5 TiPS TO KEEP THE KiDS ENTERTAiNED

Bad weather weekends and stormy nights can make keeping the whole family entertained feel like an impossible task in the winter months.

Check out PLAYin CHOC's ideas for beating the January blues with exciting activities to keep kids big and small entertained and excited about the world around them.

1. Become an animal detective

Add a bit of variety to your usual winter weekend walk by challenging them to find and identify as many examples of footprints, feathers and fur as they can. This is a great way to discover more about the wildlife featured in our Woodland ToyChoc Boxes!

2. Plan an indoor picnic

Picnics aren't just for summer! When bad weather keeps you in the house, an indoor picnic is the perfect way to get those couch-potatoes off their screens! Get the kids to help out with preparing healthy snacks, building a cosy picnic den from cushions, blankets and fairy lights, and sending out invitations to their friends (real and imaginary!).

3. Puddle jumping

This one's a no-brainer on rainy days. Wrap up warm, don your rain jackets and prepare to get messy. Nothing beats hopping up and down in muddy puddles, just don't forget your wellies!

4. Winter scavenger hunt

Scavenger hunts are great fun, whether indoor or outdoor. Task your little troublemakers to find or spot things either around the house or out and about. This is a great way to get them engaging their senses and exercising their inquisitive instincts.

5. Go star gazing

Take advantage of the early darkness in the evenings to teach your little ones about the universe! Consult the weather forecast, choose a clear night, wrap up warm, pack hot drinks and snacks (PLAYin CHOC will do!) and prepare to keep an eye out for shooting stars.
